REST API basics
Use supported API access to integrate sending, status, and custom workflows with your own systems.
Before making production changes: exact screen names and platform behavior can change as GoHighLevel, Android, carriers, and the underlying messaging platform evolve. Test changes on a controlled deployment first.
Before building
Use credentials scoped to the correct account, store secrets server-side, and use a test device/number for development.
Build in stages
- Authenticate.
- Send one test request.
- Store the returned identifier/status.
- Handle errors and retries safely.
- Add delivery/inbound events through supported webhooks.
Security
Never expose API keys in public browser JavaScript or client-facing source code.
