Android battery and background settings
Prevent Android battery controls from putting the gateway app to sleep.
Before making production changes: exact screen names and platform behavior can change as GoHighLevel, Android, carriers, and the underlying messaging platform evolve. Test changes on a controlled deployment first.
Why this matters
Some Android manufacturers aggressively suspend background applications. A gateway can appear offline even though the phone itself is powered on.
What to check
- Allow background activity for the gateway app.
- Exclude the gateway app from battery optimization where Android provides that option.
- Avoid deep-sleep/app-sleep lists for the gateway app.
- Keep the phone connected to power in a ventilated location.
- After changing settings, restart the phone and confirm the device returns online automatically.
If the phone still drops offline
Test on mobile data and Wi-Fi separately, confirm the carrier/data plan is active, and contact ASG with the device model and Android version.
